JOHN ARMSTRONG
MANAGING DIRECTOR

John Armstrong has been with HotCity in different capacities since 2005, having served as a union stage manager, designer, production manager, and now managing director. Mr. Armstrong’s educational background includes: a B.A. in Theatre, with an emphasis in Technical Theatre and a Minor in mathematics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, including a year-long internship at Actors Theatre of Louisville’s stage management program. In the following years, John worked as a stage manager at Utah Shakespeare Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Humana Festival, Troupe America’s international tour of Christmas Carol, several national children theatre tours, and seven years at Stages St. Louis. John is also currently the Technical Director for Clayton Public Schools and a stage supervisor at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. Mr. Armstrong is a member of Actors Equity, the professional union of actors and stage managers, and served as the St. Louis Liaison Committee Chairman for that body from 2005-2006.
