HOTCITY THEATRE MOVING TO GRAND CENTER
HotCity Theatre is moving its Mainstage performances from the ArtLoft Theatre to the historic Woolworth building, recently renovated by Grand Center into the Kranzburg Arts Center at 501 N. Grand (Map).
"This is will be an exciting time for our staff and patrons." says Managing Director John Armstrong. "HotCity Theatre-goers are going to love the amenities that the new space has to offer, such as a large lobby, restaurant, box office, plush comfortable seating, and an intimate setting. The Grand Center area gives us a great atmosphere in which to perform, and broadened visibility to the general public. Our staff is looking forward to bringing our brand of theatre to this growing arts district, reaching new patrons who may not have seen us on Washington Avenue."
The Kranzburg Arts Center black box theatre will be the home for HotCity Theatre's Mainstage Series as well as other theatre companies in a shared space that will allow the building to be a central location for some of St. Louis's best professional theatre. With a flexible 110 seat traditional black box theatre, The KAC will allow HotCity to maintain the intimacy and numerous seating configurations that patrons came to enjoy at the ArtLoft.
HotCity Theatre will make its debut at the Kranzburg Arts Center with Killing Women by Marisa Wegryzn on September 19th, 2008.
HotCity Theatre's GreenHouse series, including the New Play Festival in June, will continue to perform at the Centene Center of Arts and Education, two blocks east of the Kranzburg Arts Center, 3547 Olive Street, which also houses the HotCity Theatre office.
